In December 2025, Version 6.0.0 of the UAT was released to the worldwide astronomical community. Version 6.0.0 consists of a polyhierarchy with 2312 concepts, 11 top concepts, and a depth of 11 levels, with 696 related concept links. UAT v.6.0.0 is primarily our heliophysics ingest. We’ve added nearly 39 new concepts, added or updated AltLabels for 3 concepts, and edited 12 definitions. The version resolves issues in milestone releases 5.1.1 and 6.0.0.
Note that 6.1.0 will be another large update with 130 issues set to be resolved: https://github.com/astrothesaurus/UAT/milestone/22.
We expect to release version 6.1.0 in spring 2026.
